00:00:00 Tanzania - The Witch Hunters In the first six months of 2017 nearly 500 women have been murdered in Tanzania, accused of being witches. Filming with investigators, survivors and witch doctors, Ade Adepitan investigates this sudden spike in brutal violence towards women, and uncovers how relatives are manipulating old beliefs to steal money and land from older women. 00:23:38 South Africa - Deadly Gold Rush Johannesburg is known as the City of Gold because it sits on the biggest gold reserves in the world. It is also home to a thriving illegal gold mining industry that is devastating communities. Seyi Rhodes uncovers the precarious lives of the illegal miners, and the South Africans who live in towns where crime is so rife that they are cut off from services and even become no-go zones for police and ambulance crews.
Failed leadership in Zimbabwe has caused hardship not just for its citizens, but it also affects neighboring countries.........SADC needs to stand up to this stupidity.
Can we get a gofundme started to get Prince back to college?? And maybe for Freedom to get enough to support said partner and child? And for Charity to be able live with her son? These stories are heartbreaking
What about the lady who got slashed in the face by a machete because someone decided she was a witch or connie, the woman who was gang raped at work who will be permanently scarred and too fearful to return to work? There are thousands of cases of terrible problems and turmoil in africa. I feel terrible for the people in this video too but what they need more than anything is for the world to see this. Share it with friends and family and show them what is happening. Follow the politics that happen and be careful which organizations you give money to since some actually support conflict.
Watching 'South Africa's Deadly Gold Rush & Tanzania's Witch Hunt' left me with a mix of emotions - empathy for the victims and frustration with the systemic issues. The documentary effectively exposes the darker aspects of human nature, but I couldn't help but feel that the narratives were oversimplified and sensationalized. This paradox highlights the complexity of the human condition, capable of both cruelty and resilience. As a viewer, I'm compelled to consider the moral gray areas and approach these issues with nuance, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the underlying contexts.
Please do a documentary on the San. Their the oldest living tribes and there are people in Central America who look like them. A documentary about how they got there would be cool too
Africans are resilient and have the will to survive under extreme circumstances. Why is the whole African continent, with many beautiful countries, still struggling? The OAU need to get their priorities, right and move away from the shackles of corruption.
Zim leadership is to blame yes, but also Sanctions affect ordinary people way more, for instance the leaders and their families are living it large, ordinary people are suffering. Sanctions don't work.
I now understand why South Africans fight Zimbabweans. How can you leave ur country and then go to SA and go get their property Gold that belongs to them no way.
South African police are busy making tiktok, how can these Zama zama operate freely in the open? Thats why they are flocking to SA, they get caught in neighbouring countries where police are not allowed to spend the whole day making dance videos and jokes on social media
The witch hunter guy says all the unbelievable stuff about women being witches and what a threat they are. Then he proceeds to practice witchcraft in front of you!
Well one can not get any gold simply by randomly blowing up any old rock. These guys are either geologists versed in determining what are gold bearing ores or they aren't. Even if they did remove gold bearing ore it would need to be in the range of 100's of tonnes, not something which a bunch of people can do like you are showing.
Which hunt or not, the new roof is much worse than the first. The house temperature will be either extremely hot or cold. Thatch roof is better, economically and environmentally in the longest run😢

The corruption is systemic and global and that's why corrupt regimes and leaders still rule, that's why things are the way they are.
Too many corrupt politicians allowing other countries to fool them until this day and age unbelievable. But they get greedy and forget about their ppl

Plus for guys who presumably never used such go pros etc, they did a pretty damn good job of recording editable footage.

😢😢I feel for that lady that got raped. She’s so brave for sharing her story. Strength to her.
Zimbabwean illegal immigrants, do that to South African women a lot.
Zimbabwe has gold though. Yet they found South Africa to be a suitable target for their illegal activities.
🤔
Zimbabweans are Nigerians in Southern Africa. And Kenyans are Nigerians in East Africa hmmmm
They made $25 on that first haul but how much did they pay off the gangs to let them pass in the illegal mines safely? They didn't think that through.
Even if the gangs took half, $12 is still enough to buy food for you and your family. Desperate times
A failed state 😢 which failed its citizens
Do y'all see what foreigners really do in SA?
